Ashtavarg

Planets by their position in the horoscope are favourably or unfavorably disposed towards the twelve houses in the nativity. The chart giving malefic and benefic influences of planets towards the houses is called Ashtavarga Table.

Each planet has an Ashtavarga Table and eight different considerations are made with respect to influence of planets towards a house from radical positions and the Lagana. Thus in the ashtavarga Table of planet, we shall have a maximum of 8 benefic indications in any house and the minimum shall be the Zero.

SARVASHTAVARGA

The sum of the benefit Dots that each house has received

In the Ashtavargas of various planets is called the “Sarvashtavarga”. The total number of  Figures in all the houses in Sarvashtavarga will be 337.

Prediction from Ashtavarga table:-

Very important prediction can be made from the study of Ashtavarga tables. In the Ashtavarga Table of planet, when the planet transits the houses , Which contains the least number of Dots , evil results shall be produced. Where there are more Dots , benefic results can be expected during the transit of the said planet .If the Dots are less than four (4) , it is considerd evil and more than four is held good. Means As the Dots go on reducing from four, the evils also go on increasing and as it goes increasing from four, the benefic results also go on increasing. If the number be four (4), Neither very good nor very bad shall be produced.

PREDICTIONS FROM Sarvashtavargas(S.A.V)

Just as from individual A.V tables , important predictions can be made from S.A.V

We know that the total number of benefic dots that  any house can receive is 8X7=56

The minimum number of dots may be 0(Zero) ,it is very clear that range is from- 0 to 56, and mid point limit is 28 :

Thus as the number of benefic Dots in any house in the S.A.V  is increases from 0 to 28  the malefic or evils goes on decreasing from maximum to neutral . As it goes increasing from 28 to 56 the benefic results go on increasing from neutral to maximum

A very important clue is offered here to measure the malefic or benefic nature Of a house’s affairs mathematically. To calculate the effects mathematically , we proceed as :

Suppose a house has 18 dots –the house results shall be negative . Subtracting 18

From 28 (28-18 =10), figure obtained is multiplied by 100 and is divided by 28 i.e (28-18)X100=1000, this is divided by 28 =35.7% (approx), Thus we understand that the native shall suffer 35.7%  of malefic effects with respect to that house affairs.

A house with 40 Dots means:-  40-28=12 (Divided by 28 and Multiplying by 100) 12X100=1200 is divided by 28=1200/28=42.86%(approx), Conclusion is that the native shall reap the benefic result of that house affairs to the extent of 42.86%.

 

SARVASHTAVARGA & RESULTS:-

If a figure in a particular sign exceeds 30, then planets transiting through it will Produce benefic effects. If it be  between 25 and 30 the effects shall be neutral. If the figure be less than 25 the effects shall be bad.

Add together the figure in the 1^st.,4rth.,7^th. and 10^th. (ii)2^nd., 5^th.,8^th.,and11^th.,

(iii) 3^rd.,6^th.,9^th.,and12th counted from Lagana , will represent three stages of life as first 1/3, second 1/3 , and the last 1/3 rd portion of one’s life. The part of life which has the maximum number of benefic dots shall be happier than the other.

Add together the figures in the (i) 1^st.,5^th., 9^th., (ii) 2^nd., 6^th., 10^th., (iii) 3^rd., 7^th., 11^th., and (iv) 4rth.,8^th., 12^th., houses reckoned from Lagana. If there are more benefic dots in the 3^rd.,group than the 4rth. group , the native shall be rich otherwise he shall be poor.
