Planets & Houses

1. 1       A powerful benefic when he is in exaltation sign which does not happen to be Dusthana (6^th, 8^th or 12^th) becomes powerful to do immense good. If by position, he is in the exaltation sign identical with a Kendra or Trikona he is most powerful to do good.
2. A powerful benefic when in exaltation sign identical with the 2^nd, 3^rd, or 11^th, from the Lagna will do good to a very great extent.
3. A powerful benefic, if he be in exaltation sign identical with 6^th, 8^th, or 12^th house, becomes capable of doing only ordinary good.
4. If a neutral planet gets exalted in a benefic house, he will produce very good results.
5. If a neutral planet gets exalted in the 2^nd, 3^rd or 11^th house, he will produce good results.
6. A neutral planet when he gets exalted in an evil house (6^th, 8^th, 12^th) will produce only ordinary results.
7. A malefic planet when exalted in a benefic house (4^th, 5^th, 7^th, 9^th, 10^th or 1^st) gets the malefic nature reduced. The malefic nature of the house he owns as well as the benefic nature of the house he occupies gets reduced.
8. A malefic planet when exalted in a neutral house will reduce the malefic nature of the house he owns and give ordinary good results pertaining to the house he occupies.
9. A malefic planet exalted in an evil house (6^th, 8^th or 12^th) will reduce the malefic nature of the house he owns and reduce the malefic effects of the house where he is located.
10. A benefic in his own house identical with a benefic house will produce very good results. If he happens to be in a neutral house (2^nd, 3^rd and 11^th) even then, he will produce good results. But, in a Dusthana (6^th, 8^th or 12^th), he becomes incapable of doing much good with respect to the house he owns, but reduces the malefic nature of the house he occupies.
11. A neutral planet occupying a benefic place produces ordinary good results pertaining to the house he owns and occupies. If he be in 2^nd, 3^rd, or 11^th house, he gives ordinary good results. But in 6^th, 8^th or 12^th he destroys the good results of the house he owns and occupies.
12. A malefic planet when placed in a benefic house reduces them malefic nature of the house he owns and benefic nature of the house he occupies. If he be in a neutral house (2^nd, 3^rd or 11^th) he destroys the good results of the house he occupies, but reduces the malefic indications of the house he owns. If he occupies the 6^th, 8^th or 12^th house, he will produce intense evils pertaining to the house he owns and occupies.
13. A natural benefic does good in the 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd, 4rth, 5^th, 7^th, 9^th and 11^th houses. In the 6^th, 8^th and 12^th, he loses power to do good, but gives benefic results concerning the house he occupies.
14. Natural malefic in the 3^rd, 6^th and 11^th houses produces good results. In other houses, they destroy the indications of the houses they occupy.

IN ADDITION TO WHAT IS STATED ABOVE, WE SHALL HAVE TO CONSIDER THE ASSOCIATION AND ASPECTS OF PLANETS TO DETERMINE THE NATURE OF THEIR POWER TO DO GOOD OR BAD:

• When the lords of a Kendra (Quadrant) and Trikona (Trine) combine in a house or mutually aspect each other, both acquire great strength to do good.
• By the association or aspect of a benefic with a neutral, the neutral gains strength to do good while the benefic retains its origin power to influence good events.
• By the association or aspect of a malefic with a benefic, the malefic loses some of its malefic nature and benefic its benefic nature.
• By the association or aspect of two neutrals they retain their original powers.
• By the association of a neutral with a malefic, the neutral becomes a malefic and the malefic remains malefic.
• When two malefic combine or aspect each other, they become extremely malefic.
• When two friendly planets combine, they produce good results. When two inimical planets combine, they accelerate the evils, This is true with respect to their mutual aspects also.
